HABITAT unveils Metaflora IV Vol. 1: Mind Against’s label expands its sonic ecosystem with a 15-track Various Artists compilation

HABITAT, the multidisciplinary label and art platform presented by Mind Against, returns with Metaflora IV Vol. 1, a wide-ranging Various Artists compilation that brings together established names, trusted label affiliates and rising voices from the melodic house and techno spectrum.

Released as HBT024, the project features 15 original tracks and moves through the different shades that currently define HABITAT’s sound: hypnotic techno structures, emotional melodic tension, progressive-driven arrangements, indie dance influences and peak-time club energy.

More than a simple label sampler, Metaflora IV Vol. 1 feels like a snapshot of the ecosystem Mind Against have been building around HABITAT: a space where music, visual identity and forward-thinking club culture coexist with a clear curatorial direction.

Mind Against open the compilation alongside Jos & Eli with “Overture”, a title that works almost like a statement of intent. The Italian duo’s sound has always lived between techno, house, IDM sensitivity and psychedelic melodic writing, and HABITAT reflects that same hybrid approach.

The label has quickly developed into a platform where electronic music is not treated only as a dancefloor tool, but as part of a broader artistic language. Metaflora IV Vol. 1 continues that idea: every track has its own identity, but the whole compilation still feels connected by atmosphere, tension and a refined visual world.

The HABITAT full journey: 15 tracks, 22 artists, one coherent direction

The compilation begins with Mind Against & Jos & Eli – “Overture”, a collaboration that sets the emotional tone of the release. Jos & Eli bring their melodic and atmospheric sensibility into Mind Against’s darker, more cinematic universe, creating an opening track that feels spacious, dramatic and built for large rooms.

Woo York – “Lose Control” follows with the kind of powerful, hardware-driven energy the Ukrainian duo is known for. Their music has always balanced raw techno impact with melodic intensity, and here they add a direct, physical moment to the compilation.

With “Neon Hearts”, Andrea Oliva brings his long-standing club experience into HABITAT’s world. Known for his deep connection to Ibiza culture and house/techno dancefloors, Oliva delivers a track that adds groove, warmth and a different type of movement to the release.

Sezer Uysal & Axelax – “Calling For More” opens another chapter in the compilation, pushing into a melodic and progressive space. Sezer Uysal’s background in forward-thinking house, techno and progressive sounds gives the track a precise balance between emotion and rhythm.

Italian duo EarthLife contribute “Go”, a track that fits naturally within the emotional and melodic DNA of the compilation. Their sound has often moved between melodic house, progressive house and afro-influenced textures, and here they add an elegant, rolling moment to the sequence.

One of the most interesting collaborations comes from Tharat & shel·ly with “Believe In Me”. Tharat, already connected to the HABITAT universe, brings his emotive but driving production style, while Barcelona-based artist, producer and vocalist shel·ly adds a more intimate and contemporary club sensitivity. The result is one of the most human and vocal-driven moments of the release.

Un – “Isn’t Over Yet” keeps the emotional thread alive with a track that feels direct, concise and effective. Placed in the middle of the compilation, it works as a bridge between the more melodic opening section and the darker, club-focused energy that follows.

Milan-based producer Ivory appears with “Back Again”, bringing his refined and hypnotic approach to electronic composition. Known for releases on labels such as Innervisions, Afterlife and Kompakt, Ivory’s contribution adds depth and sophistication to the VA, reinforcing the label’s connection with artists who treat melody as a form of storytelling.

Beswerda – “System” pushes things further into a modern melodic techno direction. The Rotterdam-based producer has built a strong identity around emotional, minimal and club-ready productions, and his track adds pressure, tension and peak-time functionality without losing atmosphere.

Spanish artist Upercent follows with “Tetric”, one of the more individual and unpredictable entries on the release. His sound has always carried an unconventional edge, and here he brings a more experimental and rhythmically distinctive perspective into the compilation.

NEMSIA & SAIINT – “Power” introduces a darker, high-energy cut that feels designed for the most intense moments of a set. It is one of the tracks that gives the compilation its sharper club edge, showing HABITAT’s interest in both established and emerging names.

With “Redux Control”, Alessio Cristiano & Baraka bring a precise, controlled and forward-moving production. The track sits naturally in the current melodic house and techno landscape, adding another Italian-flavoured perspective to the project.

Julian Koerndl – “Tom Turbo” gives the compilation a more playful and kinetic turn. Its title already suggests movement, and the track works as a dynamic reset before the final section of the release.

Gespona & Fabricio Mosoni – “Fundente” is another standout collaboration. Gespona, a Barcelona-based artist connected to labels such as Diynamic, Siamese, HABITAT and Stil Vor Talent, joins forces with Argentinian producer Fabricio Mosoni, whose background in progressive and melodic sounds brings a deeper, more atmospheric layer to the track.

The compilation closes with Momery & Luminog – “Today”, ending the journey on a bright, emotional and high-energy note. As a final track, it leaves the release open rather than closed, reinforcing the idea that Metaflora IV is not just a one-off compilation, but part of a wider creative universe.

Why HABITAT Metaflora IV Vol. 1 matters

Metaflora IV Vol. 1 arrives at a moment where melodic house and techno continues to evolve beyond its most predictable formulas. Instead of focusing only on big breakdowns and dramatic drops, HABITAT’s compilation highlights different ways of approaching the genre: from hypnotic club tools to emotional vocal moments, from progressive textures to indie dance-inspired tension.

The strength of the project is its balance. Mind Against, Woo York, Andrea Oliva, Ivory, Beswerda and Upercent bring recognizable weight and experience, while names like Tharat, shel·ly, NEMSIA, SAIINT, Alessio Cristiano, Baraka, Julian Koerndl, Fabricio Mosoni, Momery and Luminog help expand the label’s sonic identity toward a broader future.

In that sense, Metaflora IV Vol. 1 works both as a club-ready compilation and as a curatorial statement. It shows where HABITAT is now, but also where the label could be heading next.
