Fur Coat and ELIF Join Forces on “Hold Me Close” via Last Night On Earth

Fur Coat and ELIF come together for “Hold Me Close,” a new two-track EP set for release on Last Night On Earth, the label founded by Sasha.

Landing on July 24th, 2026, the release brings two club-ready melodic house cuts: “Hold Me Close” and “Took My Time.” According to the official press release, Fur Coat returns to Last Night On Earth alongside Barcelona-based DJ and producer ELIF for a project built around emotive energy, groove-led tension and late-night atmosphere.

A Meeting Point Between Emotion and Groove

The EP opens with “Hold Me Close,” described as an emotive club-ready melodic house track shaped by a bubbling bassline, charged piano chords, kick drums and shifting textures. It is built for momentum, but also carries the melodic detail and emotional pull that define both artists’ sound.

On the second track, “Took My Time,” glitching vocals, dynamic piano chords and chugging bass synths move the release into a darker late-night space. Together, the two tracks form a compact but effective EP designed for melodic house floors, balancing tension, movement and atmosphere.

Fur Coat’s Melodic Legacy

Fur Coat is the project of Sergio Muñoz, a Venezuelan-born, Barcelona-based DJ and producer. Over the years, he has built a strong identity around emotive melodic sound, rolling grooves and progressive records, with releases connected to labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Renaissance and Watergate.

His career also includes a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and a Balance Presents mix, two milestones that helped establish Fur Coat as a respected name in the melodic and progressive electronic scene. Resident Advisor also highlights Fur Coat’s DJ sets as journeys built around melody, creativity and emotion.

Beyond Fur Coat, Muñoz also runs Øddity, his own label platform, further expanding his role as both artist and curator within the underground melodic landscape.

ELIF’s Rise Through Melodic House and Indie Dance

ELIF artist portrait

ELIF has become one of the most distinctive voices in the new wave of melodic house and indie dance. Born in Istanbul and now based in Barcelona, she is known for an emotionally driven yet groove-led sound, with releases and support from labels including Anjunadeep, Stil vor Talent and Get Physical.

Her work extends beyond her own productions and DJ sets. As the founder of Marginalia, ELIF has built a Barcelona-based label and creative platform dedicated to forward-thinking artists and contemporary melodic electronic music. International Music Summit describes her sound as moving between melodic house and indie dance, shaped by storytelling and adaptable from darker club settings to festival stages.

Returning to Sasha’s Last Night On Earth

The release also feels like a natural fit for Last Night On Earth, Sasha’s long-running label. Known for its connection to progressive, melodic and forward-thinking electronic music, the imprint has developed from a record label into a wider movement with showcases, podcasts and a global following.

For Fur Coat, returning to Last Night On Earth with ELIF reinforces the label’s position as a meeting point for established names, evolving artists and emotionally rich club music.

With “Hold Me Close,” Fur Coat and ELIF deliver a focused melodic house EP built for the club, but shaped with emotional detail. The release brings together Fur Coat’s progressive depth and ELIF’s groove-led melodic identity, resulting in two tracks that feel direct, atmospheric and ready for late-night moments.

Set for release on Last Night On Earth on July 24th, 2026, the EP stands as a strong collaboration between two artists whose worlds naturally connect through melody, tension and movement.
